PHARR – When Edinburg’s Raul “El Tigre” Casarez signed with Don Chargin Promotions back in December of 2011, Chargin promised him that he would have a big time fight for him real soon.

Well, Chargin was a man of his word as Casarez will be featured in the main event of “Solo Boxeo Tecate” on March 17^th as Golden Boy Promotions returns to the Pharr Events Center.

James Gogue, Casarez’s trainer and manager, has worked with Chargin for quite a long time and knew that once Casarez signed with him, his career would start taking off.

“Don told Tigre once he signed with him that he was going to work on a TV date for him and now here we are preparing for a huge opportunity,” said Gogue. “Don is still working on an opponent for Tigre, but I know it’s going to be a big test for him.”

“Tigre is a rising star in the Valley and Don is ready to make a move with him. What a better way to do it that on a national spotlight boxing show.”

Casarez said that he is extremely happy that Chargin gave him an opportunity like this.

“Man I am so excited. Not too many guys get an opportunity like this,” said Casarez. “I have been stepping it up at the gym while preparing for this fight and plan on being in the best shape of my life come March 17^th.”

“What make this even sweeter is that I get to fight in front of my hometown fans. I want to put on a good show and this fight is truly going to be my coming out party. I really don’t care who I face, all I know is I want to fight.”
